This guide explains the steps to stop the leak, reduce water damage and protect your home safely.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1 – Turn Off the Dishwasher
Switch off the dishwasher and stop the current wash cycle if it is still running.
Do not continue using the appliance until the cause of the leak has been identified.
Step 2 – Turn Off the Water Supply
If possible, close the dishwasher's isolation valve.
If you cannot stop the leak at the appliance, turn off your home's main stopcock.
Step 3 – Contain the Water
Use towels, buckets or FloodFort flood bags to help prevent water spreading across the kitchen floor.
Position the flood bags around the affected area to help contain the leak and protect nearby rooms.
Step 4 – Check for the Cause
Inspect around the dishwasher door, hose connections and underneath the appliance for obvious signs of leaking.

Remove standing water and dry the floor thoroughly.
